Work in Progress Calculator

The continuous process improvement effort mandates that you understand just how much work in progress is currentl yin the system. We can do that by using either TAKT Time or Traffic Intensity.

Based on a Harvard Business Review article about putting out fires, the Traffic Intensity calculator provides you wiht an easy way to determine whether the system has too much work in progress. It is critical that you have a full picture of just how much time you have in tital for the week and whether or not you can complete that work in a timely manner. This worksheet allows you to inset the data as to time available, the number of requests ad the available resources to resolve the problems. It then calculates the level of problem traffic through the organization.
